The Chicago City Treasurer’s Office has announced the kick off for the 2010 Elevator Pitch Contest. Two keys to success in business are a great business plan – and a great elevator speech.

What is an elevator speech? A clear and concise summary of: 30 seconds or less – of your business and why your service or product is important.

We hope 2010 is off to a great start for you.  We are already planning our 2010 Small Business Expo – and proud to announce the Business Plan Competition is underway! $10,000 in Cash Prizes

The 10 finalists will be named in April and  the top three winners of the Business Plan contest will be announced a the City Treasurer’s Small Business Expo.  The Business Plan Competition gives entrepreneurs and start-ups the opportunity to submit a 2 page written executive summary and win money and prizes that consist of resources and mentoring sessions critical to a new business.  Competitors will have until Monday, April 5th to enter.  Full details
